Born and raised in Escondido, California with an affinity for all music that moves her soul, is Janelle Phillips. Janelle has a reggae, dub, rock, and r&b influence that comes through clearly in her sultry, yet energetic and inspirational music. Signed to Stoopid Records in 2016 and with her Executive Producer being none other than Miles Doughty of Slightly Stoopid himself, she is quickly showing the world exactly the kind of mentality it takes to make it.

Janelle began writing lyrics and poetry as a freshman in high school. At 19, she taught herself how to play the guitar and ukelele and started writing music for her own songs. In 2011, Janelle began performing regularly in California; playing anywhere from open mics, college courtyards, and bar room showcases to the biggest festivals around, such as One Love Fest, Long Beach Beer Fest, Summer Meltdown and her most recent being Desert Oasis 2017. Janelle's influences include Bob Marley, Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Trevor Hall and Matisyahu. She has also collaborated with a few of her influences as well, such as Marlon Asher, Trevor Hall and E.N. Young.

The Janelle Phillips Band is currently planning their first U.S tour in support of their album due to be released in early 2018 (Stoopid Records). Recorded, produced, and engineered by the Stoopid Records in-house genius and engineer, James Wisner, this album is much anticipated. No stranger to the studio though, Janelle released her debut EP In 2013 titled "To Be Heard", produced and recorded by Ryan J. Parker. She quickly followed up in 2015 with another EP titled: "Lioness", which was produced and recorded by E.N. Young under the Roots Musician label at the Imperial Sound Recording Studio. "Lioness" reached #5 on the Reggae iTunes Charts. We look forward to the future with the Janelle Phillips Band. Stay tuned for updates!
